Change the background on Windows 7 Login screen

In the usual case mostly, Windows 7 automatically selects the background for the Login screen which can't be changed unless you hack your way into the system files, but here we have a utility that will make this task easy and simple for you.

win7login

Windows 7 Logon Background Changer is a free open source software that let you change the wallpaper of the Windows 7 Login screen. This small program is WPF based decent GPU for the 3D animations to run smoothly.
On the usage part, its pretty straightforward. Run the app, choose a folder that has the images that you want to keep as the background of your Login screen, select the image and click Apply.
It automatically creates a cropped and resized version of the image that you select which is then applied as the background of the Login screen. And the best part is that it does not mess around with the system files so it is completely safe to use.

1. Microsoft will replace Microsoft Works with a trimmed down and ad-supported version of Microsoft Office called the Office 2010 starter edition.
2. The starter edition of Office 2010 will have Word and Excel programs and it will only be available with new PCs.
3. The public beta of Office 2010 will start later this year  though you can try Office Web Apps now itself.
4. Office 2010 will be available in three editions – Office Home and Student 2010, Office Home and Business 2010, or Office Professional 2010 (looks like they killed the Ultimate edition).
5. Click-to-Run is a new feature that will make it easier for you to try Microsoft Office 2010 on an existing PC. It will automatically install software patches when connected to the Internet and, since it uses virtualization, you’ll be able install multiple versions of Microsoft Office on the same computer side-by-side.

A Handy Tool for Adding Screen Captures in Gmail and Google Docs

Let’s say you are working in Google Docs or writing an email inside Gmail and need to add a screenshot image into your current message /document. How do you do this?

screenshot in gmail message

You will first capture the screenshot using the good old Print-Screen key (or via some screen capture utility), then you’ll save that screenshot to a file and will finally upload that image file from the desktop into your email message /document. Right?
If that’s your workflow, iClippy can help you simplify it. iClippy is a screen capture tool that also comes with some free online storage so the moment you capture an image on your desktop, it will also become available on the Internet.
